This cave (really an alcove) in the southwest flank of Superstition Mountain can be seen while driving southeast on US-60 in Apache Junction. It's not very deep but the front opening is large. It's roughly 20 feet tall by 50 foot wide by 30 feet deep and shows evidence of large parties. It's roughly 4 miles roundtrip to the cave and takes 2 to 3 hours. The elevation gain is 800 feet--half of that is in the final approach which may involve some all-fours hiking.

The Broadway Trailhead and the Jacobs Crosscut Trail is used to access the cave. The major cross streets for the trailhead are Broadway and Mountain View (north of US 60). Mountain View has an exit and light on US 60. (Only the West bound traffic stops.)

The first part of the hike uses Jacob's Crosscut Trail starting from the Broadway trailhead. There are three intersections:
- at 0.6 miles go straight on the Crosscut Trail rather than right on the Goldmine trail.
- at 1.3 mile go straight into Monument Canyon on an unofficial path rather then left on the Crosscut trail
- at 1.6 miles go right on an unoffical path. There's a large cairn or two at the intersection.

There's a prospect shaft at the back of the cave.
