Photos and a map of the hike from the top of Siphon Draw to Flatiron on Superstition Mountain.

Flatiron is one of three destinations after climbing Siphon Draw. (North Peak, and the Superstition Ridgeline are the other two.) It's a short hike from the top of Siphon Draw. Plan on at an absolute minimum of 15 minutes and 0.5 miles if you're running out of time. It's a good place to take a break although there isn't any shade. Just about the only rocks big enough to sit on are near the western edge.

Once you've been on top of Flatiron, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment everytime you see it when driving by: "I've been up there". There are great views in an arc from the southeast to the north. (For 360° views visit North Peak.) Note that climbing Siphon Draw to Flatiron is strongly discouraged by the Forest Service: "There have been several serious injuries, as people tried to follow a route that climbs up the side of the mountain. Don’t go there."
