The JF-Trail in the Superstition Wilderness is 10.2 miles in length. It is seldom hiked straight through from one end to the other since the trailheads are so far apart that a vehicle shuttle isn't feasible and few would consider it worth a 20.4 mile back & forth hike. The northern trailhead is at Tortilla Ranch, the southern is at Woodbury Ranch.
These photos are of the trail out of the Woodbury Trailhead to Tortilla Pass. (Actually these photos are part of a hike from Woodbury to the Roger's Canyon Cliff Dwellings which passed through Tortilla Pass.) Tortilla Pass provides access to La Barge Mountain and Peak 5077 which would make this segment more interesting as a standalone hike. See: La Barge Mountain on HikeArizona.com
It's 6.8 miles roundtrip. The starting/ending point is 3511 feet. The low is 3262 feet with the high at Tortilla Pass being 4500 feet.
The JF-Trail is named after cattleman Jack Fraser who ran cattle in the 1890's out of the still existing J-F Ranch near the Woodbury Trailhead.
