FR 172A (blue) to Roger's Trough is a one lane shelf-road with blind curves and steep drop offs without guard rails. High clearance is required and 4WD may be needed depending on how recently the road has been graded and the amount of rain since then. There are rocks in the road on the final stretch that are likely to take out the oil pan on passenger cars.
