Dan taking a break. It's a hard 1.4 miles downhill from the end of the road at the lower mine to Fraser Canyon. The catclaw caused bloody legs and arms but other plants were more important causes of slow progress: tall grass hiding the footing on rocky slopes, and the Cocklebur filling the canyon bottom as in the next photos.
